Glow plug control filaments ensure regulation of current and temperature in the heating zone. The control filament is made from a special cobalt-iron alloy whose electrical resistance increases dramatically as the temperature rises. This reduces current consumption; the steady-state temperature on afterglow is automatically limited.

The thin wire of the control filament has a stable fit and withstands all vibrations. Coil-winding short-circuits and even a short-circuit with the glow tube are therefore prevented. Our glow plugs minimize noise production and pollutants produced by the engine thanks to the correct afterglow temperature.
